Our Team  
Patricia L. Silverstein, President  

Patricia Silverstein’s expertise is in economic research and economic development, including industry cluster studies and strategic economic development planning. She has extensive experience in preparing economic and fiscal impact analysis for community development purposes. In addition, she serves as the consulting chief economist for the Metro Denver Economic Development Corp. and the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce. In these roles, she compiles, interprets, and forecasts economic and demographic data for the Denver metropolitan area and performs in-depth research on issues and proposed developments impacting the region.

Ms. Silverstein received a bachelor's degree in economics from Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, Nebraska and a master's degree in economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Ms. Silverstein is active in a number of business and professional organizations, including chair of the manufacturing committee of the University of Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum and member of the Economic Developers' Council of Colorado, the Denver Regional Council of Governments Long Range Economic Forecast Task Force, and the Denver Association of Business Economists.

 
Jesse D. Silverstein, Principal  

Jesse Silverstein’s expertise is in preparing economic and real estate-related financial analysis. He has extensive experience in economic development strategies, real estate market analysis, and feasibility studies. His experience includes redevelopment analysis for environmentally-impaired property (brownfields) and evaluation of transit oriented development (TOD) opportunities. Mr. Silverstein also has extensive experience working as a team member on “place making” planning processes. In addition, Mr. Silverstein serves as the Executive Director of the Colorado Brownfields Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization whose mission is to address environmental hurdles to local community and economic development. Mr. Silverstein's prior employment includes positions as Policy Analyst with the Western Interstate Energy Board, Director at Equitable Real Estate Investment Management, and Chief Appraiser for the Resolution Trust Corporation (FDIC) in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Silverstein holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Delaware, a master's degree in economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and is an MAI designated member of the Appraisal Institute.

 

 

 
Emily R. Stuart, Research Economist  

Emily Stuart is an expert in the compilation and interpretation of economic and demographic data. Prior to joining Development Research Partners, Emily worked as an economist in Oregon’s Workforce and Economic Research Department. In that capacity, she focused on retirement impacts, labor force participation, unemployment, and other workforce issues. She also produced employment estimates for the Bureau of Labor Statistics’ Current Employment Statistics.

Ms. Stuart also has worked with highway cost allocation and other transportation-related analyses. Ms. Stuart holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. Her concentrations at Willamette included labor economics and leading indicators, and she held an internship position under Oregon’s State Economist.

 

 
  Lisa Strunk, Research Economist    
   

Lisa Strunk’s expertise is in economic analysis and research, including fiscal analysis and industry cluster studies. Prior to working at Development Research Partners, Ms. Strunk was a senior research analyst for the Colorado Health Institute where she worked on numerous health-related issues. She also worked for the Child Health Plan Plus division at the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing as a statistical analyst and served as an economist in the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting providing national and state economic analyses to the director and members of the Governor’s staff.

Ms. Strunk is currently an adjunct faculty member of the Economics Department at the University of Colorado-Denver. In addition, she serves as both the Treasurer and active member of the Denver Association of Business Economists and serves on the University of Colorado Business and Economic Outlook Forum Government Committee. Ms. Strunk earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Pennsylvania State University.

 

   
David A. Hansen, Research Associate  

David Hansen is a research associate with Development Research Partners. His business experience has been in economic development on the Western Slope of Colorado as well as economic and demographic analysis. Mr. Hansen’s expertise extends into fiscal and economic impact analyses. Mr. Hansen earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado.
